Congratulations to the Vietnamese Representatives
We are delighted to congratulate Mr. Pham Ngoc Dat (University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCMC), Ms. Nguyen Huynh Ngoc Mai Tram (University of Medicine and Pharmacy HCMC), and Mr. Trinh Hieu Liem (An Binh Hospital) for having their reports and posters accepted for presentation at the Asia-Pacific Occupational Therapy Congress 2024.
An International Event for Connection and Knowledge Sharing
The APOTC Congress is a platform for exchange, networking, and updates on the latest trends and evidence in the field of Occupational Therapy, offering a unique opportunity for therapists from various countries to come together and inspire one another. This year, the 8th Congress is being held in Sapporo, Japan—nearly 20 years after the first event in Malaysia in 1995.
Marking Vietnam’s Presence at APOTC 2024
Notably, for the first time, presentations on occupational therapy training and practice in Vietnam have been accepted and will be showcased in main sessions, thematic discussions, and poster presentations. The topics presented by the Vietnamese delegation include:
- Establishment of a Professional Association: Occupational Therapy Networking in Vietnam – by Mr. Pham Ngoc Dat (Congress theme 6: Management/Career)
- Occupational Therapy Community Program to Optimize Learning Experience of Children in Special Schools in Small Towns in Vietnam – by Ms. Nguyen Huynh Ngoc Mai Tram (Oral Presentation/Community Development)
- Occupation-Based Intervention in Group Settings to Improve Quality of Life and Social Participation for Post-Stroke Survivors – by Mr. Trinh Hieu Liem (Poster Presentation/Evidence-Based Practice)
Supporting the Congress through Video Presentations
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Vietnamese presenters will not be able to attend the APOTC in person from November 6-8. However, their presentations will be shared via video, ensuring a Vietnamese presence at the event.
Vietnamese Representatives in Sapporo
Meanwhile, representatives from the Vietnam Occupational Therapy Network, including MSc. Nguyen Khac Tuan (Hai Duong Medical Technical University, President of the Vietnam Occupational Therapy Network) and MSc. Dr. Pham Dung (Director of the Netherlands-Vietnam Health Committee, MCNV), have traveled to Japan to attend the congress. We wish them a successful experience at the congress, fostering sustainable connections to further the development of Occupational Therapy in Vietnam.
Best Wishes for a Successful APOTC 2024!
